Dvorak Keyboards

Dvorak Keyboards and Key Labels - Fentek Industries
Fentek sells inexpensive Dvorak keyboards and sticky labels to convert your existing keyboard.

The Switchable Dvorak Keyboard - DvortyBoards
DvortyBoards sells an inexpensive keyboard that can be switched between Dvorak and Qwerty without changing your Windows settings. The web site also has a downloadable Dvorak Typing Tutor program.

Keytime
Another supplier of Dvorak keyboards, with two-hand and one-hand layouts and Mac compatible.

XPeRT
XPeRT is an alternative key layout designed to increase typing speed with minimal learning time. Designed for hunt-and-peck typists like all you techies out there.

Contoured Keyboards

Maltron Ergonomic Keyboard
The Maltron keyboard uses an efficient contoured shape and is available with the optimized Malt key layout. The keys are aligned vertically so you don't have to reach diagonally when leaving the home row.

Kinesis Home Page
Kinesis sells a contoured keyboard that combines optional Dvorak layout with an efficient keyboard shape. The keys are aligned vertically so you don't have to reach diagonally when leaving the home row.

Datadesk SmartBoard
The keys are fanned out in a way that matches the natural reach of the fingers instead of in staggered rows. The price is much lower than other contoured keyboards. Made for Qwerty but convertible to Dvorak.

One-Handed and Chording Keyboards

Bat Keyboard - Infogrip Inc.
The Bat is a fully chording keyboard that uses seven keys (one hand) to replicate all functions of a conventional keyboard. Infogrip claims it is nearly as fast as Qwerty, and having a free hand for your mouse increases productivity.

OrbiTouch Keyless Keyboard - KeyBowl Inc.
This "keyboard", designed to reduce repetitive stress injuries, uses hand movements instead of finger-operated keys. Each hand rests on a moveable dome for text entry and mouse functions.

MonoManus - ElmEntry Enterprises
This one-handed keyboard has a contoured design. It uses two keystrokes per character so the total number of keys is manageable. An optional built-in touch pad keeps one hand free for brushing your teeth.

Twiddler - Handykey Corporation
This is a combined text entry and pointer device that is held in, and operated with, one hand. It uses chording to replicate the functions of a full-size keyboard.

Half-Qwerty - Matias Corporation
Edgar Matias sells software to allow one-handed typing on a Qwerty keyboard. The space bar acts as a modifier key to type keys that would normally be reached by the other hand. The keyboard can still be used with two hands if desired.

Maltron One-Handed Keyboard
This is a one-handed version of the Maltron keyboard. It does not use chording, so there are a lot of keys.

Show your support for alternative text entry. Copy this banner onto your web site. Print out the large version (GIF or MS Word format), laminate it, and use it as a bumper sticker on your car.
